Hanshi Mitsuhiro Saruta is the soke (head master) of the Ryu Sei Ken sword system and president of the International Batto Do Association from Osaka, Japan and the Ni Dai Soke of Najamura Ryu Happogiri Batto Do.
Saruta Sensei was born February 3, 1952 the year of the dragon. At the age of ten he began studing Kendo and Iaido. At the age of seventeen he moved to Osaka, Japan. At that time there was no place that actually did test cutting, so Saruta Sensei began to cut on his own. He then met Taisaburo Nakamura in the mid 1980's. He learned very quickly and achieved the status of 8th Dan indicative to his extraordinary abilities in swordsmanship. Nakamura granted Saurta Sensei 2nd Soke of the Najamura Ryu, naming Saurta head of All Japan Shizan Kai for four years. Then in 1993 Saruta Sensei formalized the techniques of Ryu Sei Ken and founded the International Batto Do Shizan Association. Saurta Sensei wanted to introduce traditional Japanese Bushido and spread real Budo to the world. It is presently known as International Batto Do Shizan Association Ryu Sei Ken. Eishin Ryu Iaido
Hayashizaki Jinsuke Minamoto Shigenobu is the founder of Eishin Ryu, he lived between 1546 and 1621. He grow up during a period of constant warfare in Japan and was exposed to various sword fighting methods from an early age. History states he went to Yamagata Prefecture to pray for guidance and received divine inspiration for a new way of drawing the sword. In his middle age he established his own style of swordsman ship and called it Shimmei Muso Ryu (Divinely Inspired, Unparalleled Style). This is the samurai's way of face to face combat. Iaijustu begins in the scabbard, killing an opponent with one stroke of the sword, flipping the blade and returning the sword to the scabbard. Hayashizaki Iaido sword style has had many names since passed down 450 years from student to teacher. His Iaido is the foundation for the two major styles practiced today: Eishin Ryu and Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido.

Ryu Sei Ken is well known for it's good shizan (target cutting) and practical two man sword Kata. A modern art based on ancient techniques and philosophy.
Art Lineage: Mitsuhiro Saruta
Laking Sensei trained directly under Saruta Sensei.
Mitsuhiro Saruta is thought by many prominent swords man, to be the best target cutter in the world. His good balance and posture was most likely developed during his long years of Kendo. Saruta sensei was one of the top high school kendo contenders in the country, when he was young. Because of his love of the sword and kendo, he practiced cutting at a young age. <p>
He was scouted out by Nakamura Taisaburo and there were plans to make Saruta the next soke of Nakamura Ryu after Nakamura sensei's passing away , but Saruta sensei didn't get a long with some of the others in the ranks of Nakamura Ryu Batto Do. Saruta sensei left the art and began teaching under the name of Ryu Sei Ken Batto Do. Even while under the Nakamura flag, Saruta sensei refused to teach Nakamura Ryu and only taught the kata now taught as Ryu Sei Ken.
